Power' of the 'Holy Spirit' | All Consuming Fire | Faith-fuel Fridays | Michelle Karen D'Silva
We often talk about the Holy Spirit being like a fire, but isn’t our image of this fire a flickering candle or maybe a pretty bonfire? We often talk about the Holy Spirit being like a fire, but isn’t our image of this fire a flickering candle or maybe a pretty bonfire? Have we ever thought of Him as a wild fire? With a raging fire, there is always a tendency to control it lest it consumes us. And so often in our lives we treat the Holy Spirit the same way – in our lack of understanding of who He is, we try to dictate the extent to which He can move in our lives. Through this reflection, I invite you to a paradigm shift and hope you may come to ask for the power to step away from wanting to curb the wild fire of the Spirit and allow His consuming fire to engulf you fully. Key notes: 1. Unexpected: God is always about NEW things. 2. Undivided: It’s never about the I, it’s always about the WE. 3. Unreserved: Declaring ‘JESUS IS LORD’ means saying NO to every other God (This recording was part of a Zoom session organized by UAE for their series ‘Go Forth’, leading up to the feast of Pentecost)
